UWB Directional Couplers
Directional Couplers are unequal splitters that are used to balance out the RF power to a number of antennas in a typical DAS. They are similar to Power Tappers in that they drop off a portion of the RF energy through the coupled port, while allowing the majority of the RF energy to continue along the path. They are designed to work in one direction as the coupled signal in the reverse direction is greatly reduced. They can also be used to couple another signal source (such as a cellular modem) into the donor coax.
Couplers are specified based on the power ratio between the input port and the coupled port.
